Director Reportedly Beaten to Death

A prominent Russian theater director was beaten to death in his apartment in an apparent contract killing, a news report said. Igor Kucher, 52, was struck several times, the Interfax news agency reported. His body was found Sunday night. Kucher was a well-known director who was credited with leading the artistic revival of Theater on Taganskaya, one of Moscow’s most famous theaters.
