HUNTINGTON BEACH

The City Council recently approved an expected allocation of nearly $1.7 million in federal funds for low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. About a third of the money will be spent on street and sewer improvements, and $300,000 will pay for administrative costs. The public service organizations that will benefit include Project Self-Sufficiency, $66,900; Huntington Beach Community Clinic, $42,686; Huntington Beach Community Clinic Rehabilitation, $30,000; and the Oak View Community Center, $27,314. The public can review and comment on the way the funds have been divided until Aug. 8.
