Two youths caught spray-painting a wall in Anaheim early Wednesday shot at a homeowner who chased them and tried to copy their car’s license plate number, police said.
Police stopped the suspects’ car at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Lincoln Avenue, and arrested them just after 12:15 a.m., according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Joe Vargas. Officers found two handguns and spray paint in the car, plus shell casings.
The homeowner, who lives near the intersection of Broadway and Agate Street, was not injured. His name was not released.
Lennie Melvin Roan, 18, of Anaheim was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, weapons possession and vandalism, and was booked into the Anaheim Detention Facility, Vargas said. The second suspect was a 16-year-old juvenile, who was booked into the Orange County Juvenile Hall on the same charges, Vargas said.
Roan also is wanted in Texas in connection with two incidents of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
