Transit Quandary

Samantha S. Kimmel should remember, regarding her harrowing account of traveling on potholed Burbank Boulevard in North Hollywood (“A Tale of Two Cities, Told by Potholes and the Lack Thereof,” Valley Perspective, July 11), that she is one of the lucky ones. She has a car.
Even though it’s a direct line to Valley College and Burbank Media Center, the street has no local bus service between Whitsett [Avenue] and Hollywood Way.
You see women struggling along the ragged pedestrian-hostile roadside trying to maneuver groceries and children.
Next May our $4.5-billion subway will terminate about a block below it.
The transit-dependent who live along this major yet strangely abandoned boulevard will not be able to take a bus to the station unless key changes are made.
