The city is registering runners to compete in its 19th annual 10K and 5K runs next month. Runners will start at Oak Middle School on Oak Street, run almost as far as the San Diego Freeway and end up at Rossmoor Park. Cash awards for 10K runners and wheelchair racers range from $75 to $250.
The 5K run starts at 8 a.m. Feb. 27; 10K runners leave at 8:45 a.m. A Kids Fun Run starts at 9 a.m., and the 5K Parade of Walkers leaves at 8:05 a.m.
Entry fees are $18 before Feb. 19 and $21 afterward. The Kids Fun Run and the 5K Parade of Walkers cost $10 each to enter.
Registration forms can be picked up at the Los Alamitos Community Center, 10911 Oak St. For race updates, check the city’s Web site at https://www.ci.los-alamitos.ca.us.
