UCLA 1969-71

Three-time national champion, twice as UCLA’s leading scorer and rebounder after Lew Alcindor’s departure. Most outstanding player of the 1970 Final Four.

Marques Johnson

UCLA 1974-77

The final title under Wooden came with Johnson starting as a sophomore. Also reached Final Four in 1976 and won the first Wooden Award as national player of the year in 1977.

Lew Alcindor

UCLA 1967-69

The future Kareem Abdul-Jabbar led the Bruins to three titles, an 88-2 record and remains the only player ever chosen most outstanding player of the Final Four three times.

Guard

Harold Miner

USC 1990-92

Known as “Baby Jordan” because of his spectacular style, Minor holds the USC career scoring record, averaging 23.5 points a game.

Gail Goodrich

UCLA 1963-65

Won two NCAA titles, teaming with Hazzard in the backcourt in 1964 and carrying the Bruins to their second in 1965 with an extraordinary 42-point performance against Michigan in the title game.

Reggie Miller: UCLA 1984-87.

Don MacLean: UCLA 1989-92.

John Rudometkin: USC 1960-62.

Henry Bibby: UCLA 1970-72.

Leon Wood: Cal State Fullerton 1982-84.

WOMEN’S FIRST TEAM

Forward: Cheryl Miller, USC, 1983-86. Four-time All-American, three-time player of the year, two-time national champion, a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and the only USC basketball player, male or female, to have number retired.

Forward: Denise Curry, UCLA, 1978-81. UCLA’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder, three-time All-American and a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Currently coach at Cal State Fullerton.

Forward: Natalie Williams, UCLA, 1991-94. Two-time All-American in basketball, two-time national player of the year in volleyball. Career rebounding average of 12.8 is No. 1 in UCLA history.

Center: Lisa Leslie, USC, 1991-94. Three-time All-American and 1994 player of the year. Ranks as Pac-10’s all-time scoring and rebounding leader.

Guard: Ann Meyers, UCLA, 1975-78. A member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and the first women’s basketball player to become four-time All-American. Player of the year in 1978 as Bruins won national championship. Still holds UCLA career records for assists and steals.
