Fireworks

Re “A New Worry for New Year’s: Fireworks,” Dec. 22: I think it’s a shame that we have given in to industry and allowed the use of fireworks for the millennium, given the fact that there has been no rain and it is so dry outside we are just asking for trouble. I can’t believe that something can’t be done to stop this insane idea. If nothing is done, then industry has itself to blame when there are fires blazing all over the place, putting the firefighters at risk unnecessarily.
