Your excellent article, in which five nationally prominent artists and entertainers offered their thoughts on the status of creativity (“Ready to Make the Turn,” by Susan Freudenheim, Nov. 28), neglected to mention that two of the five figures profiled have strong affiliations with UC Irvine’s School of the Arts.
Donald McKayle has been a popular professor of dance at UCI since 1969, and Alexis Smith, who graduated from UCI in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in art, is one of our school’s star alumnae.
