In an effort to help ease school overcrowding, the Santa Ana Unified School District continues to negotiate with the city to obtain land at Centennial Park to build a high school, despite concerns about dwindling park space.
The district hopes to build a 25-acre high school at the Fairview Street and Edinger Avenue park that will alleviate the crowding of the district’s 53,000 students, about 12,400 of whom are in high school.
An estimated 3,278 more students will enroll in high schools by the 2007-08 school year.
