The gunman approached Steve Jackson and shot him in the neck about 7:50 p.m. Sunday at 2011 E. 113th Street, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. J. Reinhold of the Southeast Division.
Police later discovered the victim on East 112th Street. Jackson was taken to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, where he was in serious but stable condition.
The gunman remained at large, Reinhold said. Anyone with information is asked to call (213) 485-6925.
