An 18-year-old woman awoke Sunday morning to find a burglar sitting on her bedroom floor and touching her through the blankets, Sgt. Jim Perry said.
The victim was able to escape unharmed and police later arrested 19-year-old Eric James Ramirez of Santa Ana in connection with the incident.
Police said the suspect had climbed into the home in the 18300 block of Tamarind Street close to 4 a.m. after removing a bathroom window screen, Perry said.
The intruder then entered the bedroom and woke the young woman, who ran out of the room to call authorities.
Police responded at 4:30 a.m. and found Ramirez trying to hide in a bathtub.
Ramirez was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary. Bail was set at $10,000, Perry said.
