Parents Invited to Review Textbooks

Parents can review elementary-level reading textbooks and other materials proposed for adoption by the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District.
After a 1 1/2-year pilot program to test materials from three publishers, teachers are recommending that the board on Feb. 24 adopt language arts textbooks from Harcourt Brace.
Also recommended by teachers are Spanish-language arts materials from MacMillan/McGraw-Hill and transition materials by Houghton-Mifflin for students learning English.
The textbooks and materials will be on display at the Educational Services Center, 4999 Casa Loma Ave., Yorba Linda.
