LOCKWOOD VALLEY — A Canyon Country teenager who became lost Monday evening after a day of motorcycle riding in Ventura County’s rugged mountains was found cold and hungry, but otherwise fine, Tuesday morning.
Sam Bobness, 17, was riding with three friends near Lockwood Creek when one of the youths ran out of gas. One boy rode for help and led Ventura County sheriff’s deputies back about 6:30 p.m. Bobness, who had ridden ahead, could not be found, deputies said.
The sheriff’s search-and-rescue team and helicopter unit searched during the night, deputies said. At dawn, a helicopter crew found the youth.
The youth, who was not injured, was reunited with his family about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, deputies said.
