Photo of Tears

It concerned me to read Alec Valk’s letter (Aug. 27) attacking The Times for using a picture of Adam Sorgi crying after losing in the Little League World Series. Valk called it embarrassing. How can a real emotion, so genuinely felt after such a hurtful event, be embarrassing? If only boys were permitted to cry, how much more compassionate our society would be.
