No Free Booze

Regarding Jean Forman’s letter “Booze on Board” (Nov. 2): I am sure that the cruise lines decided to enact regulations that would go out of their way to annoy cruise passengers, including restricting the use of personal alcohol on board their ships. At least, that is the assumption of this disenchanted woman.
Does she expect to drink out of her own bottle on board an airplane? She is not allowed to do that, either, and in both cases, the reason is to limit the excessive consumption of alcohol. As a flight attendant, I do not wish to sail (or fly) with people whose only purpose would appear to be to drink excessively and become disruptive.
It is customary to tip the food or beverage server on land for his or her efforts--why not at sea?
