ARLINGTON, Texas — Once again, Roger Clemens pitched up to the high standard he has set for himself. This time, though, the Toronto offense didn’t perform like the worst offense in baseball that, statistically, it is.
Clemens threw a five-hitter to become the first 15-game winner in the majors and Carlos Delgado homered twice and drove in five runs as the Blue Jays beat the Rangers, 9-1, Thursday night.
The Blue Jays had 15 hits and scored their most runs for Clemens since getting 13 on May 31.
