Unbeaten Woodbridge Easily Handles Corona del Mar

Unbeaten Woodbridge, the top-ranked team in Orange County and the Southern Section Division I, defeated Corona del Mar, 13-5, in a Sea View League boys’ tennis match Tuesday at Corona del Mar.
David Lingman swept in singles, 6-0, 6-3, 6-1, to improve to 44-1 for Woodbridge (17-0, 7-0 in league).
Corona del Mar (10-5, 5-2) is ranked third in the county and Division I.
In the Golden West League:
Servite 13, Santa Ana 5--Ryan Moore swept in singles for Servite (17-2, 9-0), 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Aliso Niguel 13, University 5--Eighth-ranked Aliso Niguel (15-2, 9-0) clinched the league championship by beating seventh-ranked University (10-5, 7-2).
Burton Gonzell and Amir Yazdanshenas swept in doubles, 6-1, 6-3, 6-2, for Aliso Niguel.
In the South Coast League:
Dana Hills 11, Capistrano Valley 7--Brandon Fallon swept in singles, 6-0, 7-5, 6-1, for second-ranked Dana Hills (12-1, 5-0).
In Arrowhead League baseball:
Southern California Christian 6, Riverside Sherman Indian 5 (8 innings)--Chad White had four hits, including the winning home run in top of the eighth, and Jeremy Smith hit two home runs for SCC (2-9, 2-3). White also pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and striking out nine.
In Century League baseball:
Canyon 12, Orange 2--Brandon Smith had three hits and two RBIs and Mike Tomarelli added two hits and pitched six innings to earn his fifth victory for eighth-ranked Canyon (16-5, 8-2). Tomarelli is 13-0 over the last two seasons.
Foothill 4, El Modena 3--Josh Arhart, who had four hits including a home run, singled in Mike Gettman for his third RBI in the bottom of the seventh for Foothill (16-4, 10-0).
Santa Ana Valley 18, Villa Park 6--Shortstop Edgar Razo made 11 assists without an error and had three hits and three RBIs for Santa Ana Valley (10-10, 3-7).
In the Express League:
Heritage Christian 14, Palos Verdes Rolling Hills Prep 3--Paul Caffrey threw a three-hitter, striking out 12, for Heritage Christian (10-4, 3-0).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Hills 10, Laguna Beach 3--Nick Harvey hit his 10th and 11th home runs for visiting Laguna Hills (11-8-1, 8-1-1), which hit five home runs.
In Century League golf:
Villa Park 186, Orange 220--Mark Hewlett and Matt Dante each shot par 36 on the Green River Orange course for third-ranked Villa Park (14-1, 7-0), which clinched the league title.
In the Orange League:
Brea Olinda 176, Western 200--Steve Bendt shot a one-under-par 34 at Dad Miller for Brea Olinda (15-2, 8-0), which shot one-over as a team to clinch the league title. Brea, ranked sixth in the county, finished second in league last season.
University 199, Aliso Niguel 207--Brian Sinay shot two-under 34 at El Niguel for top-ranked University (17-0, 9-0), which clinched the league crown.
In the Sea View League:
Irvine 194, Woodbridge 207--Michael Lavery shot a one-under-par 35 for Irvine (4-5 in league) at Oak Creek Country Club.
Newport Harbor 369, Corona del Mar 378--Justin Shapiro shot two-under 68, including five birdies, on the par 70 Costa Mesa Mesa Linda course for Newport Harbor (4-14, 2-6).
Santa Margarita 196, El Toro 205--Nate Blauer shot a two-over 38 at Coto de Caza for second-ranked Santa Margarita (15-1, 8-1).
In the South Coast League:
Mater Dei 408, San Clemente 421--Bret Parker shot four-under 68, including five birdies, on the par 72 at Pacific to lead Mater Dei (5-4, in league).
In the Sunset League:
Huntington Beach 194, Marina 212--Anthony Mendoza shot par 36 for eighth-ranked Huntington Beach (12-3, 5-2) at SeaCliff.
Los Alamitos 192, Fountain Valley 195--Brett Dolch shot par 35 for seventh-ranked Los Alamitos (15-1, 7-0) at Old Ranch. Ryan Robinson also shot 35 for Fountain Valley.
In Empire League boys’ swimming:
El Dorado 111, Kennedy 54--Brian Malich won the 50 freestyle (21.0), the 100 freestyle (46.6) and anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:39.9) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:53.12).
In Pacific Coast League girls’ track and field:
Laguna Hills 90, Aliso Niguel 46--Tayyiba Haneef cleared 5-10 1/2 in the high jump and barely missed her attempt at 6 feet, which would have tied the county record.
In Century League boys’ volleyball:
Villa Park 3, Foothill 2--Eric Helenihi had 23 kills as ninth-ranked Villa Park (13-0, 7-0) won, 15-3, 17-15, 11-15, 8-15, 15-5.
In the Sea View League:
Santa Margarita 3, Irvine 0--Marcus Skacel had 16 kills for Santa Margarita (11-2, 7-0), ranked second in the county, which won, 15-5, 15-4, 15-9.
