The Canoga Park unit of the Salvation Army will celebrate the grand reopening of its community thrift store in Sun Valley with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today and other events continuing through the weekend.
City Councilman Richard Alarcon will help kick off the three-day community open house today with a ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
“All of the revenues from Salvation Army thrift stores in the Valley go to support our drug and alcohol recovery programs,” said spokeswoman Suzanne Valentino.
The Canoga Park unit has operated the Sun Valley thrift store since 1984.
It was closed several months ago for remodeling.
The store, at 8220 Sunland Blvd., will provide refreshments, prizes and entertainment from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Regular store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
