Post-Holiday Retail Sales Gain Shown

Same-store sales at retailers nationwide rose by 0.4% over post-holiday sales a year ago, according to data compiled by Houston-based TeleCheck, which tracks check writing by consumers.
In Western states, sales fell by 2.1% overall. But in Greater Los Angeles, which includes Orange County, they fell by 3%.
