Amnesty Only Brings $20 of Spilled Loot

A 48-hour “amnesty” for Miami residents to return an estimated $500,000 that disappeared after a security truck crash has ended, leaving police holding only about $20 of returned funds. Police officials also said that two women were arrested for allegedly trying to use food stamps from the crash site. Police declared the “no questions asked” amnesty Thursday, one day after a Brink’s armored security truck believed to be carrying $3.7 million flipped and sent a waterfall of bundled currency and coins into the impoverished neighborhood. Only two people came forward during the amnesty period.
