Ratings for Game 4 were 10% below last year and the four-game average is baseball’s second-lowest ever.
The Yankees’ 8-6 victory got a 17.9 rating and 32 share on Fox, Nielsen Media Research reported Thursday. That was up from the 17.5 rating for Game 3, but well below the 20.0 for Game 4 of last year’s Series between Atlanta and Cleveland.
The four-game average of 16.5 is just above the 16.4 rating for the 1989 Series.
