Ad Attacks Garcetti’s Role in Simpson Case

Challenger John Lynch unveiled a TV commercial Thursday that attacks incumbent Los Angeles Dist. Atty. Gil Garcetti’s record in the failed prosecution of the O.J. Simpson murder case.
In particular, the ad hits at a theme Lynch has stressed for months: that a prosecutor’s focus ought to be winning over jurors, not reporters.
If elected, Lynch has vowed not to comment on pending cases. The challenger has criticized Garcetti repeatedly for commenting on the Simpson case while it was in progress.
Lynch’s campaign manager, Rick Taylor, said the ad will begin airing this weekend. A Garcetti ad, launched last week, contends that Lynch is “too risky” to be elected.
