In nonleague Southern Section games:
Valley View 44, Canyon 20--Monte McKeon rushed for 75 yards in 13 carries for the Cowboys, who were limited to 148 total yards at Canyon. Valley View amassed 374 yards.
Canyon defensive end Mike Kowalczyk returned a fumble 61 yards for a touchdown and Brian Gelt caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Rick Thomas in the third quarter. Thomas was three of 13 for 44 yards and one interception.
