SEC Clears Simi Firm to Trade on Web Site
- Share via
PerfectData Corp. of Simi Valley has received clearance from the Securities and Exchange Commission to allow investors to trade its stock on its World Wide Web site.
The “off-the-grid” stock trading system at https://www.perfectdata.com became operational after the SEC issued a “No Action” letter to permit it.
The PerfectData system permits the public to view the buyer and seller message boards. However, registration is necessary to actually use the system to trade.
The SEC is allowing the trading subject to various limitations, including the absence of compensation and advice or participation by the company or its management, and the existence of a parallel public trading market, which in the case of PerfectData is the Nasdaq stock exchange.
PerfectData designs and markets a broad line of computer, office-care and maintenance products and accessories.
