Braille Center Offers Free Consultations

People experiencing vision problems may schedule a free consultation at the Braille Institute Visual Aids center in Anaheim or at various community centers in Orange County.
“All you need to do is get a written referral from your doctor and make an appointment to come in,” said Jamie McAllister, a visual aids consultant. “Many people don’t realize they don’t have to be legally blind for a consultation.”
The institute’s consultants evaluate visual acuity and determine what types of devices are needed, such as special magnifiers or lighting units.
The Braille Institute’s Anaheim center is at 527 N. Dale Ave. Information: (714) 821-5000.
