NO BULL

Don Shirley’s piece on “Annie Get Your Gun” (“Taking Dead Aim at a Revised Classic,” June 2) suggests that in Cathy Rigby’s version, Chief Sitting Bull is a very smart character.

I dare say, having played the role more times than any other actor (approximately 2,500 performances since 1947), that Chief Sitting Bull has always been a very smart character!
