Two San Fernando Valley residents were appointed to county commissions and a third was reappointed, Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky announced.
Yaroslavsky appointed Barbara Perkins of Sylmar and reappointed Sandra Klasky of Northridge to the Los Angeles County Commission for Women.
Perkins, who is completing work on a master’s degree in human development, is a member of the NAACP and the Valley Leadership Institute.
Klasky, who holds a doctorate in education, is the development director for the Cal State Northridge school of education. She is also a board member of the Valley Industry and Commerce Assn.
The 15-member commission researches, investigates and reports on conditions leading to discrimination and prejudice against women, and coordinates community efforts on behalf of women.
Yaroslavsky also appointed Rob Glushon of Encino to the county’s Economy and Efficiency Commission. Glushon, an attorney, also serves as a member of the Los Angeles City Board of Zoning Appeals.
