PRIZE LANDSCAPING
The Los Angeles Business Council this week gave Culver City an award for landscaping work it did as part of its Downtown Streetscape project, completed last year.
The project included realignment of a major intersection to improve traffic flow, the creation of a town park and the widening of sidewalks to encourage pedestrian traffic and outdoor dining at restaurants. The city also planted 300 trees, installed sidewalk furniture, put up decorative street lamps and commissioned public art.
