Fading Stars

Jonathan Silverman is lost in Orange County. The star of NBC’s “The Single Guy” played in a charity softball game Saturday at Cal State Fullerton, then was supposed to follow his teammates--the Hollywood Allstars--to BJ’s restaurant near the Brea Mall for postgame pizza and beer.
As of today, he’s still a no-show, as were buddies Matthew Perry of “Friends,” Alan Thicke of “Hope and Gloria,” Timothy Busfield of “thirtysomething” and Tony Danza of “Who’s the Boss?”
The crowd, which had each paid $75 to see the game and mingle with the prime-time stars afterward, only saw second-tier celebrities: a few soap actors and a “Hard Copy” reporter.
But everyone seemed to take it in stride, mainly because the event was for a good cause--the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation--and the microbrewery was in full operation.
There was also dancing as the Surf Tones took the nostalgia route, opting to play several Beach Boys tunes.
Oh, the final score: Hollywood Allstars: 16; World Wrestling Federation SuperStars: 1; sitcom fans: 0.
