Four members of a Yorba Linda family remained hospitalized Tuesday in Nevada, one of them in critical condition, following a weekend traffic accident in which a relative died.
Tiep Pham was “doing better, but still listed in critical condition” at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, while his wife, Kim Pham, and two of their children, ages 14 and 7, were in stable condition, according to a nursing supervisor at the hospital.
Six Pham family members were in the car that flipped Sunday on a stretch of Interstate 15 south of Las Vegas. The eldest among them, Kim Pham’s mother, Lan Su, died after being thrown from the car, police said.
Kim Pham, 38, was driving and told police that she swerved and lost control of the car after veering sharply to dodge something in the road, according to Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Scott Flaybi.
A third child, a 4-year-old, was treated and released, according to hospital officials.
