School Bond Is Imperative
Although a fiscal conservative, I feel that it is imperative that California voters pass the $3-billion school bond proposal that will be on the March 26 ballot. Proposition 203 is urgently needed if California is to build the necessary schools and make the needed remodeling and repairs to enable our state to keep pace with enrollment growth at all levels and compete economically in the 21st century by developing a strong, well-trained and highly educated work force.
Passage of Proposition 203 would bring much needed funding for the estimated $97 million in new building and remodeling needs of the K-12 schools in Ventura County. As for the community colleges, approximately $4,482,000 would become available for use on all three campuses--Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura colleges.
