California Amplifier Inc., a Camarillo maker of components for wireless cable networks, said it has received a $7-million contract from Thailand-based International Broadcasting Corp. PLC to provide anti-piracy equipment.
The systems, called MultiCipher products, scramble television signals to prevent people who haven’t paid for wireless cable programming from pirating it.
The systems will be installed throughout International Broadcasting’s service network in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand during the next two years.
