Airline Rules
The article by Christopher Reynolds on reading the small print on airline tickets (Travel Insider, June 11) was most interesting. I am certain that the airlines enforce their caveats as it suits them. However, I do wish that they would enforce the rules about carry-on baggage. On four recent flights we saw passengers carry on multiple bags, tennis racquets, golf clubs and any number of other pieces. In aircraft that are already overcrowded, it seems that a simple means of creating a few more square inches per person would be to enforce the rules on carry-on bags.
