OJAI : Lions Club Seeking Help in Park Cleanup
- Share via
Ventura County Lions Club members are encouraging residents to join them in cleaning up Dennison Park near Ojai today--the second leg of a two-day effort aimed at reopening the closed and long-neglected park by this fall.
Dennison Park, which overlooks the Ojai Valley from California 150, has been closed nearly eight years and no longer receives public funding for maintenance or improvements.
Last year, Lions Club members created the Lions Dennison Park Foundation to operate the park. Members launched their first major cleanup on Memorial Day weekend, clearing weeds and fallen trees from 36 campsites. Sunday’s cleanup will start at 9 a.m. The park is at 7250 Ojai-Santa Paula Road.
