The Chamber of Commerce has begun its search for a new executive director to replace Dave Holland, who left the post a month ago.
The executive director is charged with promoting the chamber, acting as a liaison with the community and serving as a trouble-shooter to help local business owners with planning, taxation problems and permits.
“We’re here to be a one-stop center, for all the business person’s needs in the community,” said Stan Lawrence, the chamber’s secretary-treasurer and acting executive director.
The director also would be involved with developing a business roundtable to bring together local enterprises.
Pay for the full-time job will depend on the applicant’s experience, Lawrence said, but will probably be about $30,000 a year with benefits.
The chamber is seeking applicants with prior experience in management, sales, promotion, fund-raising and working with city, county and state governments.
