PICO-UNION : Impact of Terrorism Plan to Be Examined
- Share via
Proposed federal anti-terrorism legislation and its possible negative side effects on civil rights will be discussed at a forum Saturday at Pathfinder Books.
Panelists will include Frank Wilkinson of the American Civil Liberties Union; Tony Russo, an ex-defendant in the Pentagon Papers trial; Salam Al-Marayati, director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council; Don White, an organizer for the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador, and political author Nelson Blackstock.
The anti-terrorism package proposed by President Clinton in the wake of the April 19 Oklahoma City bombing would expand the federal government’s ability to investigate and monitor the actions of groups suspected of terrorist activity.
The panel discussion is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. A $4 donation is requested. Spanish interpretation will be available.
Pathfinder Books is at 2546 W. Pico Blvd.
