Boddy, Mater Dei Stop San Marcos, 6-0

Third-seeded Mater Dei defeated Santa Barbara San Marcos, 6-0, in the Southern Section Division I softball quarterfinals Friday in Santa Barbara.
Colleen Boddy pitched a one-hitter, retiring the first 14 batters for the Monarchs (26-4). Boddy has given up only one run in three playoff games.
San Marcos (22-6) was playing because Camarillo forfeited Tuesday’s 3-0 victory over San Marcos. A Camarillo player and coach had practiced together Sunday.
Mater Dei plays Los Alamitos Tuesday at Canyon High School.
