Dolco Packaging Corp., a Studio City maker of plastic packaging, said its earnings for the fourth quarter that ended Dec. 31 were $1.48 million, up 38% from $1.07 million in the fourth quarter a year earlier. Fourth quarter sales were $18.2 million, up 11% from $16.4 million in the same period last year.
For the full year, earnings were $4.77 million, up 21% from $3.93 million the previous year. The rise was on a 7% increase in sales to $66.99 million from $62.53 million the year before.
The company said the fourth-quarter sales were up because prices were increased last year to offset higher materials costs. The company also attributed improved results for the full year to a combination of increased sales, changes in product mix and higher prices.
