Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Burned Body Found Along Highway

PALMDALE — The burned body of a man was found alongside a well-traveled highway Wednesday afternoon by patrolling sheriff’s deputies.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators said the unidentified victim was killed, dumped near 65th Street East and Palmdale Boulevard and his body set afire. The body was discovered about 1:30 p.m., Deputy Brian Jones said.
Jones said that because the body was burned beyond recognition, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office will have to identify the man and determine the cause of death. Deputies did not say how the man had been killed.
