Aid to Haiti Will Resume: The European Union and Haiti signed a $145-million aid program, marking the resumption of assistance after a three-year break. The EU suspended aid in 1991 following the military coup that ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. The aid will be used to restore government administration, infrastructure and the manufacturing sector.
