Dorsey 14, Granada Hills 0--Both touchdowns for Dorsey (9-2) came after interceptions deep in Granada Hills territory in the City Section 4-A first-round game at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
John Watkins intercepted a MacLean pass in the second quarter at the Highlander 34 and returned it 24 yards. Quarterback Roderick Brown’s subsequent one-yard bootleg gave Dorsey a 7-0 halftime lead.
Late in the third quarter, linebacker Juan Jimenez picked off a MacLean pass at the Granada Hills 20. Three plays later Jemell Gordon, who rushed for 75 yards in 14 carries, scored from three yards out for the final score.
Granada Hills quarterback Brian MacLean, who averaged more than 200 yards passing a game during the regular season, completed six of 26 passes for 81 yards and had three interceptions. The Highlanders managed only two first downs and 63 total yards.
