OUTLOOK
Attempting to win his fifth consecutive league title, Pyle is optimistic about this season despite not having any returning starters. With plenty of speed and strong outside shooting, Pyle is counting on Vickers and Howard to lead the way in points and leadership. Pyle thinks Lopez, a junior, is ready to step up a level and run the offense. He also looks at his nine-deep roster to be another contributing factor. With the junior varsity team finishing 14-0 last season, he’s confident they will be able to fill the gap created by the nine graduated seniors. For the first time in seven years, Pyle said there does not appear to be a clear-cut league favorite or marquee player. Though he listed his team among the favorites, he thinks nearly every team has a chance for the league title. “We’ve had a lot of transfers in the league this year and that balances the league outlook,” Pyle said.
