Boxing to Return to Hotel

The Grand Ballroom of the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills will be the site of a second boxing show, Nov. 23, starting at 7:30 p.m., organizers announced Tuesday.
Boxing’s debut one week ago in the upscale West Valley was marred by confusion stemming from a late change in the seating configuration inside the hotel’s venue. The fire department requested the elimination of about 140 of 1,344 seats after a last-minute safety inspection.
As a result, boxing action was delayed twice--for a total of about 40 minutes--and refunds were distributed to about 300 fans.
Fight promoter Peter Broudy said revised plans for a 1,088-seat venue were approved by hotel management and the fire marshall on Monday. “No one will feel the difference,” Broudy said. “There’s all kinds of aisles. It’s perfect.”
