New York Knick guard John Starks signed a three-year, $13.1-million contract extension, but the team failed to reach an agreement with forward Anthony Mason, who will become a restricted free agent after the season. . . . The Philadelphia 76ers signed 6-foot-8 veteran forward Willie Burton and released guard Tate George. . . . Boston Celtics forward Dino Radja signed a contract extension, ending concerns he would accept a European offer after this season.
