Discovision Associates: The company said Tuesday that it has filed a patent infringement suit against Technicolor Videocassettes Inc. for three violations of U.S. patent law.
Discovision, an Irvine research firm that developed several technologies used in producing optically read discs, said the Camarillo-based subsidiary of Technicolor is using its patented technology to create compact discs and has repeatedly refused to enter into licensing agreements.
A spokesman for Technicolor denied any wrongdoing. “It is our policy to comply with all valid patents,” said Dave Eliot. The lawsuit, filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Delaware, seeks damages and an injunction against further infringement by TVI.
