Auction Marks Anniversary of Los Angeles Conservancy
- Share via
The Los Angeles Conservancy will celebrate its 16th anniversary with a buffet dinner and auction on Nov. 19, from 7 to 11 p.m., in the downtown Central Library, which the Conservancy was formed to save.
The Conservancy also helped preserve Bullocks Wilshire and the Wiltern Theatre. The nonprofit organization regularly holds downtown L.A. walking tours and “The Last Remaining Seats,” a showcase of classic movies in landmark movie palaces.
Among the items to be auctioned are Julius Shulman photos of the Central Library; a night for two in the master suite of the Gamble House; weekend trips to historic destinations; special tours of historic Los Angeles, and one-of-a-kind bookends designed for the anniversary by more than two dozen architects and artists.
Tickets, at $75 each, may be purchased through the Conservancy at 727 W. 7th St., Suite 955, Los Angeles 90017. For more information, phone (213) 623-CITY.
