The USC School of Architecture has scheduled a memorial service today for Ronald J. Herron, the internationally recognized architect who died in London on Oct. 2.
Herron, who had close ties to USC, UCLA and the Southern California Institute of Architecture, was 64. A USC spokesman said he suffered a heart attack.
Noted particularly for two buildings in London--the Walking City and the Imagination Firm--Herron’s creations ranged from fabric structures in Japan to entertainment casinos in Monte Carlo.
The memorial will be held at 6 p.m. in the Helen Lindhurst Architectural Gallery in USC’s Watt Hall.
