GARDEN GROVE — A mother and two daughters were injured Sunday morning as they escaped a fire in their two-story townhouse, fire officials reported.
Tam Dang, 26, was awakened shortly after 7 a.m. on the second floor of the condominium at 13934 Parkway Drive by her 2-year-old daughter, Dina Nguyen. Fire had broken out in the first-floor living room, according to a Garden Grove Fire Department news release.
Dang was unable to take Dina and her 4-year-old daughter, Gina Nguyen, down the stairs because of fire and smoke.
She ended up dropping the girls through the second-floor window into the arms of downstairs tenants who had been awakened by the family’s shouting. The mother then jumped from the window, injuring her ankle.
