U.S. Ranks 12th Among Foreign Investors: American companies have steadily boosted investments in Vietnam after the U.S. embargo was lifted in February, moving the United States up to 12th place among the country’s 50 foreign investors, according to the state-run Vietnam News Agency. There are now 20 U.S. investment projects operational in Vietnam with a total capital of nearly $189 million, VNA said. Taiwan is Vietnam’s top investor with 144 projects worth $1.8 billion, followed by Hong Kong with 157 projects worth $1.4 billion and South Korea with 78 projects worth $754 million.
