Rain Postpones Season Finale at Ventura Raceway

Racing fans must wait a week to see Ventura Raceway’s points champions crowned in the Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions after Friday’s season finale was postponed because of wet grounds.
It was the fourth rainout in seven years, and the third this season at the quarter-mile clay oval on the Ventura County Fairgrounds. The finale is scheduled for next Friday.
Bill Bartels of Los Angeles and James Weston of Santa Barbara are tied for second place in Street Stock competition, 30 points behind defending champion Paul Moore of Oak View.
In the Mini Stock class, 15 points separate first-place Richard Webster of Camarillo and challenger Tim Gill of Somis.
